Starting in September 2008, each month I will be providing a square
of the month pattern, FREE.

These patterns are free to use or pass along, but they are not to be
sold or submitted to any publication.

I'll be making squares anywhere from 6" to 12".

All patterns are my own, although duplication of other existing
patterns is possible but never intentional!  If any of my patterns
replicate a pattern that has been copyrighted, please inform me
immediately!

I'll provide a picture on the News page, and a link to the pattern on
a printer-friendly page.

Joanne M. of CT donated 2 lapghans and 1
capelet.

Jan from the Slippery Rock Baptist Church
and her group donated 6 lapghans!
October Donations for Cozees
Charity News

I will be accepting lapghans and capelets for the Cozee's
Charity through November 1, 2008.  That will give me plenty
of time prior to the holiday season to prepare them for
delivery to the recipients.  If I'm given permission to take
pictures, I'll be posting them on the Cozee's page.

I will then start accepting donations January 1, 2009.

I found this handy online
interactive color wheel!
The wheel is designed for
designing quilts, but it
comes in handy for finding
yarns that
compliment/contrast.

This is so cool!

I just discovered that Red Heart brand yarn has just come out with eco-friendly recycled yarn!  I've
provided a link for those interested in using recycled materials to crochet and knit.  I WILL be
buying a skein of each: 1 cotton, 1 acrylic just to try them out.

Here's the
link!

Halloween Craft Project

Decorate your front door or windows with this easy project.

Choose your favorite Halloween symbol (pumpkin, witch, ghostly eyes, etc) from a pattern book,
coloring book or off the internet.

Tape the picture or pattern outside your window facing inside.

Using window paints or craft acrylics paint the inside of your windows. Just follow the outlines of
the picture you taped to the outside.

When the paint is dry, remove your pattern.

To have an eerie effect, paint the entire window black around the patterns.  When you turn off the
outside lights and leave an inside light on, the area's you didn't paint, will glow.

Window paints and craft acrylic paints wash off easily.

September 2008
I'm starting a new tradition
this year for my family.  I'm
making ornaments for each
lady of the house!

I found this super simple
miniature 6 pointed doily
pattern and I'm choosing the
beads in their favorite
colors.  The glass
ornaments are 3" diameter
which makes a real
statement on the tree!

I believe this style has been
around for years but it's my
first attempt at making one!
